Park is local to me and apart from the summer Bank hols when it's too busy then it's great. Especially when it's wet and we can walk the dog in peace However what I didn't appreciate today is the group of canoe enthusiasts unloading their equipment, blocking the ramps with their trolleys etc. Was forced to wade through water around them and my dog couldn't get through past them so jumped into the frozen lake to get around them. If she had gone through the ice I don't want to think about it. Just a reminder that this park is for ALL to use not just water sports and runners. Recommend the lampost cafe.

It was a little wet today, but we still had a short walk by the river and the paths were mostly OK, just one was a bit slippy with wet leaves.

Stayed here several times. Nice clean site close to Bury centre and in the door step Burrs Park. Added bonus is that a local heritage steam railway runs alongside with a station at the campsite. There is also a pub which serves meals near the entrance

Perfect place to walk the dogs. Plenty of open fields dotted about where you can exercise your mutt and avoid walkers and children. Occasionally, you will encounter other dogs, but most of the other owners are friendly. Having steam trains pass occasionally is a welcome additional to the already wonderful views. It has recently had its bins, benches, tables, and playground updated. Parking can be a little tight if you want to get close, and the long cobbled lane is hard on suspension parts.

Fabulous country park just a mile outside Bury. On the site of an old cotton mill with many interesting relics of its industrial past to wander around. Lots of picnic areas, large open grass areas, the river Irwel and a feeder canal all …
